Help needed to protect endangered bees
OAKLAND, CA – Millions of bees were poisoned this year by insecticide spraying for Zika. 44% of our bee colonies were killed, and toxic pesticides are still in use. Donald Trump’s EPA transition team denies the science that links these pesticides to bee deaths. An outcry is needed to demand that EPA and protect our bees. Make an emergency gift to the Sierra Club and it will be matched up to $150,000. Pizza popular for celebrating the New Year
WASHINGTON – The American Pizza Community (APC) notes that New Year’s Day is among the top five busiest days in the U.S. for ordering pizza. They note that:
- There are 3 billion pizzas sold in the U.S. each year.
- There are more than 73,000 pizzerias in the U.S.
- 94 percent of the U.S. population eats pizza (Parade Magazine 2012).
- Americans rank pizza fourth on the most-craved food list (American Dairy Association random-sampling survey).
- The average family eats pizza at home 30 times a year (PMQ Monthly).
The most popular days for ordering pizza are Super Bowl Sunday, Halloween, the day before Thanksgiving, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
