American Cheese Society winners announced

 

DENVER – At the American Cheese Society’s annual conference here recently, appropriately named “Cheese with Altitude,” the following winners were announced:

2017 Best of Show 1st Place

Tarentaise Reserve, Farms for City Kids Foundation/Spring Brook Farm, VT

2nd Place-

St. Malachi, The Farm at Doe Run, PA

3rd Place

Harbison, Cellars at Jasper Hill, VT

Editor’s Note: Tarentaise is a raw Jersey cow’s milk cheese, winner of numerous prizes. Profits from the sale  of the cheese benefit the missionof the Farms for City Kids Foundation. In operation since 1993, we have been bringing groups of children for week long stays at thefarm to experience and help in the care of farm animals, make maple syrup, and aid in the cheeses. 51 state list of “best breakfast” places published

Extra Crispy, a website about breakfast, brunch and what it calls “morning culture,” named the 51 Best Breakfast Destinations in the US. Among them were a dozen from the Northeast, including:
