A very special pop-up dinner for Thanksgivukkah

Kitchen Kibitz, a new participatory dining experience that explores contemporary Jewish culture with rich global influences, takes place Nov. 10 at Whisk At 351 on Boston’s Hanover St. in the North End, presented by owner Jeff Gabel and Chef Josh Lewin.
“We were already excited to host our second pop up dinner around Hanukkah, as it is one of the most anticipated holidays for many Jewish people,” Gabel said. “When we realized it was also Thanksgivukkah, it seemed natural to celebrate the exciting once in a lifetime holiday. It completely embodies everything Kitchen Kibitz is about– bringing Jewish culture to people in unexpected ways.”
The menu offers classic favorites from both holidays. The dinner starts with a bread service of Pumpkin Seed Challah and then moves on to an appetizer of Sunchoke Latkes with Sugar Beet and Pumpkin Sauce and Juniper Berry Creme Fraiche. The main dish will be Turkey Roulade with Chestnut and Sausage Dressing, Horseradish and Persian Chive Potato, and Spiced Brussel Sprouts with Asian Pear. Two desserts are planned – Nutmeg and Mace Beignet with Chocolate Sauce and Cranberry Jelly, and Pecan Pie Rugelach with Chocolate Gelt.
It’s not your bubbe’s cooking! See old-world dishes elevated with contemporary techniques as two holidays become one in a rare experience.
Kitchen Kibitz plans bi-monthly pop-ups around Boston with the next taking place early in the new year.
