HX moves to boost foodservice content

NEW YORK – HX: The Hotel Experience, taking place Nov. 13-15 at the Javits Center here, and the New York City Hospitality Alliance are moving to boost the foodservice content of the annual trade event this summer.

The Alliance will create and present sessions for both HX: ONSTAGE-RESTAURANT, the Show’s on floor center for foodservice education, and chef demos at the new HX: COOKS, the Show’s culinary theater.

New York City Hospitality Alliance represents 2,000 members made up of restaurant and nightlife establishments across all five boroughs, and plays a critical role in meeting the specialized and unique needs of these essential pillars of the city’s identity, a spokesman says.

We’ll bring together some of the most influential names in the industry to dish on topics ranging from tipping to mobile technology. HX: The Hotel Experience — Rooms to Restaurants expands technology offerings

HX: The Hotel Experience — Rooms to Restaurants will expand its technology presentations when the annual show, now 100 years old, opens Nov. 7-9  at the Javits Center in Manhattan.

One of the most visible tech improvements will be the addition of HX: TECH, a 1,100 square foot tantalizing hub for experiencing new products and hearing new ideas. Team HX: TECH will lead hands-on training, demo new products and enlighten on such topics as evaluating web presence, going paperless, social media for events, mobile apps, revenue management, meeting design, productivity and more.

“A single place for hospitality technology with real depth and breadth hasn’t existed before HX:TECH,” says Anthony G. Mangano, President Syramada Hotel Corp. (Syracuse, NY) and chairman of the board for HX 2015. “It’s more than a new product showcase, it’s a fully-staffed resource.”

HX: TECH will feature a TECHbar where attendees can bring their own device (BYOD), ask their tech and app questions and quickly receive answers and new solutions. Attendees can also experience the latest in tech wearables such as VR googles, MYO and gestured-based tech, smart watches and virtual keyboards.

The former International Hotel-Motel-Restaurant Show, now HX – The Hotel Experience, is accepting registrations for this year’s show at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center  in Manhattan.  HX has a new brand and mission that is directed to growing hospitality businesses by connecting buyers and sellers in the duration of this two day event.
With more than 15,000 attendees annually, and a multi-million dollar investment aimed to revitalize this monumental show, HX has new features this year that showcase the best of the best in the hospitality industry.
