Danny Meyer’s Martina coming soon in NYC
NEW YORK – Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group opens its newest concept, Martina, in the East Village this week with dishes priced under $13. The thin crust pizza concept will take traditional fast casual to a heightened level, Chef Nick Anderer tells Eater New York. He notes that the pizzas will cook in two minutes and views the concept as similar to Roman pizzerias he visited while studying in Italy. A relatively short list of menu items will help the kitchen produce with speed, he believes. The restaurant is scheduled to open Saturday.
