The Spirit(s) World – How does a $2,000 Bloody Mary Taste?

Sacramento Tomato Juice and Finlandia Vodka are calling all mixologists to enter their Most Magnificent Bloody Mary recipe content where they can win bragging rights to the Most Magnificent Bloody Mary in the country and also, $2,000.
“A signature Bloody Mary is a key ingredient to the success for any great bar, nightclub or restaurant,” says Rich Meyers, national sales manager of Red Gold, LLC, the makers of Sacramento Tomato Juice. “We’re inviting every professional bartender, mixologist or restaurant to enter our contest.”
“Top bars and restaurants are rediscovering the Bloody Mary as a signature drink, and the best Bloody Marys start with Finlandia Vodka and Sacramento Tomato Juice,” says Chris Doyle, Finlandia’s brand manager. “We’ll leave the rest of the ingredients up to those ready to take up the Most Magnificent Bloody Mary challenge.”

New cocktail/beverage event, Boston Thirst, set for Nov. 9-11

BOSTON – Thirst Boston! launches this fall, November 9-11, created by four longtime industry pros, TJ Connelly, Andrew Deitz, Maureen Hautaniemi and Brandy Rand, with a series of seminars by mixology specialists and industry professionals.
The weekend kicks off with “The Thing,” a celebration to welcome cocktail enthusiasts to Thirst Boston on Saturday, Nov. 9th, and followed by Thirst Hall with beer, coffee, juice, carbonated beverages and more; Hands-On “Happy Hour” Cocktail Experiences, Curated Cocktail Seminars from “The Art of Japanese Whiskey” to “Coffee & Cocktails”; a Bartender Blender Bender battle with 12 bartenders and their blenders in partnership with the Boston Chapter of the US Bartenders Guild; and Stars, Stripes and Swing Benefit Bash, a closing evening celebration to honor Armistice Day, Nov. 11, and benefitting the mission of the USO in partnership with Opus Affair and the Boston Chapter of Ladies United for the Preservation of Endangered Cocktails (LUPEC).
