Top French bakery enters the Northeast with first Boston outlet

BOSTON – A leading French bakery-café, PAUL, entered the Boston market recently with the international brand’s first outlet in the Northeast at One Boston Place in Downtown Crossing. An initial U.S. unit is in Washington, DC.
At One Boston Place, the 6,000+ sq.ft. store with a 2,700 sq. ft. mezzanine and an outdoor patio, was leased by CRBE/Grossman Retail Advisors, led by Jeremy Grossman and Andrea Matteson.
The chain began in 1889 when the Holder family began offering hand-crafted breads and pastries from locally sourced organic flour using what became 120 family recipes over five generations.
The Boston outlet is designed to offer authentic French style and will be the first of four boutique bakeries opening this years with more a dozen more slated by 2016. A the opening reception, Mayor Thomas Menino was joined by PAUL USA President and CEO Phillippe Sanchez.
In addition to a full menu of breads, PAUL offers sandwiches.
