Winners announced at Boston Lamb Jam

CAMBRIDGE, MA – The American Lamb Board’s Lamb Jam event this past weekend with chefs from Boston, Providence and Portland competing saw top honors go to a Portland, ME establishment, The Honey Paw, which won not only Best in Show but also was The People’s Choice and Best Asian category winner, showing off the talents of its Executive Chef Thomas Pisha-Duffly.

Despite a group of protesters in front of the entryway to the hotel and a change in the arrangement of the space by Boston Chefs, which works with the Lamb Board to carry out the event,  it was a busy afternoon with a large crowd of attendees tasting the offerings of 20 celebrated chefs from around New England.

Top honors in the Mediterranean category went to Brian Alberg of Red Lion Inn, Stockbridge, MA and Tom Borgia from State Street Provisions, Boston who were tied. Best Middle Eastern winner was Tim Wiechmann of Bronwyn and Plaska from Somerville, MA and Best Latin honors were taken by Elm Square Oyster Co. Chef Michael Sherman, Andover, MA.
